The Secular Support Path

LifeRing Secular Recovery

Mutual-aid organization · Secular, self-directed · Online & in person

A secular recovery organization focused on personal agency and peer support. A sober room with no higher power required and no permanent label.

Overview

LifeRing builds its meetings around discussion rather than doctrine. The core belief is simple: the power is within you.

How the approach works

Meetings are conversational. People talk directly with one another about what they're doing now to stay sober, and how others can adapt those ideas, rather than working a fixed set of steps.

Who might find it useful

People who reject spiritual frameworks, who want peer dialogue rather than testimony, and anyone who believes personal agency is central to recovery.

What to expect

Online and in-person meetings. Less ritual and scripted language, more plain speech.
