Speaking

Invite Brian to speak.

Talks on living well without alcohol, for audiences who are tired of being told there is only one way to do it.

Book Brian to Speak

I take on a limited number of engagements, in person or virtual, and I read and reply to every note personally. Tell me about your event and I’ll get back to you within a few days.

I spent eleven years being told there was a single door to sobriety. There isn’t. My talks are about the thing I wish someone had said to me sooner: recovery is not one road, it is a menu, and the work is finding the path that actually fits the person in front of you.

I am not new to a stage. For years I keynoted design and technology conferences, from the HOW Design Conference to the Type Directors Club, speaking to rooms of several hundred, and I teach today as an adjunct professor. I know how to hold a room and send people home with something they can use. Now I bring that to a subject that matters more.

Signature talks

Recovery Isn’t One Road. It’s a Menu.

Why the standard approach works for some people and quietly fails others, and the full range of paths most people never hear about. The core idea of the book, made practical.

For general, recovery, and wellness audiences

The High-Functioning Drinker

For the people whose lives look fine on paper while a quiet part of their attention stays fixed on alcohol. Naming the negotiation, why the rules never hold, and what it looks like to end it.

For corporate wellness, professional, and campus audiences

Designing a Life Without Alcohol

A designer’s take on change: treating sobriety as something you build on purpose, not a test of willpower. Practical, hopeful, and free of slogans.

For creative, entrepreneurial, and student audiences

From Drinker to Alcohol-Free Founder

I built Seir Hill, a non-alcoholic spirits company, while I was still questioning my own drinking. A founder’s story about the distance between what we sell and what we live, and what finally closed it.

For business and entrepreneurship audiences

Every talk is tailored to the room, from first-year students to a leadership team. Keynote, workshop, fireside chat, or virtual.

Who I speak to

On stage before

My past talks were about design and technology, not sobriety, but they taught me how to earn and hold an audience’s attention, sometimes 700 people and more.

Adjunct Professor at Sacred Heart University (UX/UI and AI in design) and the Jack Welch College of Business & Technology.
